Man, 29, found drowned in Gelderland pool

A 29-year-old man drowned in swimming pool De Dennen in the Gelderland town of Vorden overnight. How the man ended up in the pool is unclear. The police are investigating.

Emergency services responded to the pool on Oude Zutphenseweg around 3:00 a.m., according to De Stentor. First responders took the man out of the water and tried to resuscitate him, but it was to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pool will be closed on Friday for police investigation.

Mayor Marianne Besselink of Bronckhhorst, which covers Vorden, responded to the incident on Twitter. "I am greatly shocked by the terrible accident that happened in Vorden. My thoughts go out to those close to the victim", she said.
