Explosion at Rotterdam home; no one hurt
An explosion damaged a home on Nozemanstraat in Rotterdam during the early hours of Monday morning. No one was injured. An explosive, a pipe bomb, was left in front of the home's door, the Telegraaf reports.
The home's windows were blown out and damage was done to the home's facade and a car. The police closed down the area for investigation.
A neighbor told RTV Rijnmond that the explosion woke him around 2:00 a.m. "It looked like a bomb went off", he said to the broadcaster. "I watched from my balcony. I thought: I'll keep my distance, there may be a second explosion." The resident of the affected home is a man who lives by himself, according to the neighbor. "I saw him come out and he looked well."
