Stabbing in Utrecht village leaves three hurt
Three people were hurt in a stabbing in the Utrecht village of Waverveen on Tuesday afternoon. One person was arrested, the police said in a statement.
The police responded to a home on Selijnsweg around 4:25 p.m. and found that a stabbing incident took place in the home. A woman was hurt and a young man sustained minor injuries. The suspect, a man in a "disturbed state" according to the police, had multiple injuries.
An air ambulance was deployed and a trauma doctor gave first aid to the suspect. The police believe he caused his injuries himself. Both the suspect and the hurt woman were taken to hospital. The young man did not need medical care.
