Two Dutch tourists killed in car accident in Australia
Two Dutch people were killed in a head on collision in Australia on Wednesday. The driver of the other car, a 20-year-old Australian, sustained minor injuries, NU.nl reports.
According to Eindhovens Dagblad, the Dutch victims are a couple from Deurne in Noord-Brabant.
The accident happened on the Great Northern Highway near New Norcia in western Austraila, according to NU. The Dutch couple's car caught fire. Bystanders tried to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher, but to no avail. The man and woman were trapped in the car and there was an explosion. They died at the scene.
A special team of the Australian police is investigating the fatal accident. So far nothing is known about the cause of the accident.
The Great Northern Highway is known as a road where many accidents happen.
