Fog banks trigger code yellow warning
Thick fog can reduce visibility on the roads on Wednesday morning. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow weather warning for a large part of the Netherlands.
Visibility may be reduced to less than 100 meters in some places. From 8:00 a.m. onwards the fog should start dissipating. Only Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, and Zeeland are not affected by the weather warning.
"Hazardous driving conditions due to poor visibility. Adjust speed and keep a safe following distance. Fog can be treacherous through sudden appearance. Follow weather reports and warnings", the meteorological institute warns.
Weerplaza expects a period of sunshine in the Netherlands late morning and early afternoon. The day is expected to be dry with maximum temperatures ranging from 8 degrees Celsius in the north to 12 degrees in the south. A moderate wind is blowing from the south east.
