Wintry weather expected for Netherlands this weekend

Despite pleasantly warm weather this past weekend, spring has not yet arrived in the Netherlands. A cold weekend is ahead for the country. Meteorological institute KNMI expects minimum temperatures around -3 degrees on Friday night.

From Friday cold air from the Arctic region will blow into the Netherlands, according to Weerplaza. Rainfall starting on Friday night will gradually turn into snow. Maximum temperatures for Saturday will hover around freezing, KNMI expects.

Minimum temperatures for Saturday night and Sunday night are expected to drop to around -5 degrees, with maximums climbing to only 1.7 degrees on Sunday and 4.4 degrees on Monday.

After Monday temperatures will slowly start to increase again.
