Icy roads during morning rush hour; code yellow warning issued
Icy roads, caused by wet areas on the road freezing overnight, are expected to cause traffic problems across the Netherlands during morning rush hour.
Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow warning for the entire country. Motorists are warned to adjust their driving behavior and follow weather reports and warnings. The iciness will melt away during the course of the morning.
Tuesday will be sunny and dry with afternoon temperatures climbing to around 5 degrees, according to the meteorological institute. A moderate wind will blow from the south. Overnight minimum temperatures will drop to between -1 and -5 degrees, and icy roads may again cause problems on Wednesday morning.
