Icy roads trigger code yellow warning
Motorists are warned to be careful of slippery roads this morning, caused by wet areas on the roads freezing overnight. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow warning for the entire country.
"Adjust your driving behavior", the KNMI warns. Slow down and keep a safe following distance. "Follow weather reports and warnings." The iciness should melt away by around 10:00 a.m.
Slippery roads may again be a problem during the afternoon, as snow is expected, according to Weeronline. "Especially in the higher-lying areas such as the Veluwe, Utrechtste Heuvelrug, Sallandse Heuvelrug, the Limburg hills and the German border, it may temporarily turn white and slick. In the west and southwest, there will be mainly rainfall."
