Snow expected for the weekend
After a week of unseasonably mild temperatures and rain, the Netherlands can expect some snow over the weekend, according to weather agency Weerplaza.
Tomorrow's afternoon temperatures will range between 11 and 14 degrees. On Thursday some places in the country may see maximum temperatures of 15 degrees - very warm for this time of year. The mild temperatures are the result of a strong low pressure area in Ireland, resulting in a strong southwestern current bringing warm air from the subtropics.
But from Friday the weather will cool down considerably. Instead of warm air from the subtropics, the Netherlands will get freezing air from the border between the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea, according to Weerplaza. Over the weekend, maximum temperatures will reach between 6 and 9 degrees, with a chance of hail and snow on Saturday and Sunday.
