Dick Advocaat to coach Dutch men's football team leaving Fenerbahçe behind: Report
Dick Advocaat will be the new coach for the Dutch men's football team, the Telegraaf reports. According to the newspaper, the 69-year-old Fenerbahçe coach spoke with Dutch football association KNVB on Wednesday and now only faces a few practical issues before he can start his new job with Oranje.
Ruud Gullit will be Advocaat's right hand man, according to the newspaper. He will also play an important role on the technical staff. Gullit - former star player for PSV, Feyenoord, Chelsea and AC Milan - was previously mentioned as a possible assistant for Henk ten Carte, but Ten Carte refused the position as coach.
KNVB technical director Hans van Breukelen spoke to Advocaat and he is eager to work with Gullit, according to the Telegraaf. Until Wednesday evening Gullit had no official contact with the KNVB, but he already publicly stated that he would be interested in a job with Oranje.
