Erasmus University Campus on lock down during Feyenoord vs Excelsior match
The Erasmus University campus will be completely locked during the match between Excelsior and Feyenoord on May 7th. Campus Woudestein is located right next to Excelsior's Woudestein stadium and the university would rather not have football supporters wandering through the campus for security reasons, AD reports.
The expectation is that many Feyenoord supporters will go to Kralingen on match day, because it is an important match for the Rotterdam club. If Feyenoord beats Excelsior, they also win the championship.
After consulting with the police, Erasmus University decided to close all buildings on campus, including the sports building and food court. The university hasn't yet come up with an alternative for students who'd rather study than watch football on May 7th. "We don't yet know where they can go, but we're going to try and make them as comfortable as possible." a spokesperson said to AD.
