Suspect arrested in Rotterdam man's kidnapping

The police arrested a 29-year-old suspect in connection with the kidnapping of a Rotterdam man in Amstelveen on Thursday afternoon. The suspect was arrested during the early hours of Friday morning in Leiderdorp and is suspected of involvement in the kidnapping, AD reports

The police will say nothing further about the case, in the interest of the still ongoing investigation.

The Rotterdam man was kidnapped from a parking lot on Van der Hooplaan in Amstelveen around 5:15 p.m. Several bystanders saw a number of balaclava wearing men pulling the victim out of his car and forcing him into another car before speeding off. The kidnapped man was found wounded on the street somewhere in the province Zuid-Holland hours later.

The investigation is still ongoing and the police expect to make more arrests. The police have been very hesitant about releasing information on this case.
