Strong winds causing delays at Schiphol

Schiphol advises all travelers to keep an eye on their airline's website for actual flight information, as the windy weather in the Netherlands is causing delays. Meteorological institute KNMI issued a code yellow warning for strong winds for Thursday, but this morning a number of flights were already delayed due to the weather.

So far the delays have been limited to between 10 and 30 minutes, a Schiphol spokesperson said to Het Parool. The wind is expected to die down somewhat on Wednesday afternoon, and with that the delays will also decrease.

Thursday afternoon is expected to be very windy, and the airport also expects delays because of it.

According to Weeronline, the winds will peak during rush hour on Thursday afternoon, causing major problems with road traffic.
