Zwolle police investigates possible kidnapping

The Zwolle police are investigating a possible kidnapping in the city on Wednesday evening and are looking for witnesses. Around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday a witness saw a young man being forced into a dark van. The victim asked for help just before this happened, the police said in a statement on Thursday evening.

According to the police, the witness is a man that doesn't speak much Dutch. He reported the crime on Wednesday night, but the police were only able to launch an investigation on Thursday after an interpreter spoke to the witness. The witness was able to give the police a clear picture of what happened.

Around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday a young man between the ages of 20 and 24 years spoke to the witness on Van Schaikstraat in Zwolle-Zuid. He was out of breath and asked for help. Moments later a dark colored station wagon drove up. A tanned man got out and pushed the victim into the van. The perpetrator got back into the van and it drove off with the victim and one other man inside. The van drove in the direction of Schermerhornstraat.

Since then there's been no trace of victim or perpetrators. The victim's identity is unclear - no one has been reported missing that matches his description.

A spokesperson for the police told the Telegraaf that a special team is now working on this case and that a neighborhood investigation on Thursday revealed nothing useful. "We are eagerly looking for more pieces of the puzzle", the spokesperson said. The police call on witnesses to come forward.

The victim is a young man between the ages of 20 and 24 years old. He is about 1.8 meters tall and has a slim build. He has tanned skin and may be Turkish. His short black hair is shaved on the sides and parted in the middle. He has no facial hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing blue jogging pants with an orange stripe on the side and a logo on the upper leg, possibly a "Barcelona" or "Real Madrid" logo, and a dark colored coat.

The first perpetrator is a heavy set man with tanned skin. He is between 1.8 and 1.85 meters tall and has a large round face with big eyes. He has dark, curly hair and is about 26 years old. He was wearing light blue jeans and a dark jacket that came down to his thighs.

The second offender also has tanned skin. His hair is very short and dark in color. He was wearing a black jacket.
