Garbageman ordered to hand over found €15,000 to employer
A garbage man from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht found 15 thousand euros while working two years ago. He now has to hand that money over to his employer HVC, the court of appeals ruled, RTV Rijnmond reports.
The man found the money while taking a printer apart two years ago. He paid a colleague 3 thousand euros not to tell about the discovery, according to the broadcaster.
Some time later the man told his boss what he had done, but refused to give up the money. The matter ended up in court.
At the initial trial the judge ruled in favor of the garbage man. But on appeal the court ordered the man to give the money up.
