Body found in Scottish Highlands; fears rise for missing Dutch hiker
The Scottish police found the body of a man in a wooded area near the village of Tomich on Thursday afternoon, local time. The body has not yet officially been identified, but the Scottish police already made contact with the family of missing Dutch hiker Cornelius van der Wetering, the Highlands & Islands police department said on Facebook.
According to the local police, the body is that of a man who seems to be in his fifties. He seemed to have died suddenly. "There are no suspicious circumstances", the police department wrote.
Der Wetering, 54, was hiking in Scotland on vacation. The last contact anyone had with him was when he left his guesthouse on December 28th. He was last seen in the Tomich area.
