Man, 21, found dead in meadow in Twente town; killed in accident
A 21-year-old man from Rheden was found dead in a small meadow in the Twente town of Hegnevelde on Sunday morning. According to the police, he died in an accident.
The victim attended a party in the Kulturhus de Marke on Saturday night. The police made no comment on how he died or came to be in the field on Bretelerstraat. "The police and the forensic doctor completed the investigation into the cause and circumstances. On the basis of this investigation it was determined that a crime can be excluded and that there was a fatal accident. The body was released by the Public Prosecutor", the police said in a statement.
The body was discovered around 9:15 on Sunday morning by Wouter Ros, according to the Gelderlander. His mother-in-law saw something in the meadow and asked him to have a look. At first they thought it may be a doll, used in a 50th birthday celebration in town. "Maybe someone dragged the doll and threw him over the fence", Ros said to the newspaper.
But on closer inspection it was immediately clear that it was a dead human. There was vomit right next to it. Ros knew that it was not someone from the town. "Here we know ech other personally, or at least by sight", he said to the newspaper. He called the police.
