Sketch released of suspect in Amsterdam sex assault
The police released a composite sketch of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman on Weesperzijde near the bridge over the S112 exit earlier this month. Detectives hope that information from the public will help lead to an arrest.
The attack happened on November 6th around 5:30 a.m. A young woman was cycling home from the city center when a man pushed her off her bicycle under the viaduct. She fell to the ground and the man dragged her to a nearby field of grass.
The woman manged to break free and run back to her bike. But the man grabbed her again and dragged her back to the grass. He kicked, punched and groped the woman, before suddenly stopping and walking away. He took the victim's bike and cycled off in the direction of Diemen.
The victim describes her attacker as a man around the age of 30 with tanned, somewhat yellowish skin. He is about 1.7 to 1.75 meters tall and has short black hair On the day of the attack he wore glasses with a dark frae, a thick black coat and sand-colored trousers. The perpetrator stole the victim's bike - a black ladies "grandma bike" with a white fender and a white carrier.
The police call on anyone with information relating to this case to come forward.
