Ede street evacuated over explosive danger; no explosives found
On Wednesday night the police closed down Veenderweg in Ede and evacuated six homes after possible explosives were found in one of the houses on the street. The Explosive Ordnance Team investigated and concluded that there were no explosives in the house.
"We had reason to thik that they were explosives, but that turned out not to be so", a police spokesperson confirmed to ANP.
The possible explosives were found during an investigation into the death of a 19-year-old woman in the city on Tuesday night. The young woman was killed in her home on Agnietendaal. A 20-year-old man was arrested in Ede on Wednesday morning.
The police believe the young woman was murdered and their investigation led them to the 20-year-old man. So far nothing is known about the motive or circumstances surrounding the young woman's death.
