ADE starts in Amsterdam: World's biggest dance floor expects 375,000 dancers
The Amsterdam Dance Event - the biggest dance festival in the world - kicked off in the Dutch capital on Wednesday. This year the event expects 375 thousand visitors at its hundreds of parties, breaking a world record, NOS reports.
For the first time ever ADE kicked off with an Opera. In an effort to reach a broader audience, the Dutch National Opera, ADE and producer Sjamsoedin worked together on what the call an "exciting and compelling" show, according to the Telegraaf.
Two hundred people completely filled up a circus tent at Noorderlicht on the NDSM Werf to watch Sjamsoedin remix music from Anat Spiegel to a sort dance-opera in which a man from the distant future looks back on the present.
This is the 21st edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event. Over five days of parties about 2,200 artists will perform in 140 clubs and other venues. Performing DJ's include Martin Garrix, who was named the best DJ in the world on Wednesday, Afrojack and Hardwell.
