Commandos sue Roosendaal mosque over calls to prayer

A group of 15 Commando Corps soldiers are taking legal steps o try and stop the Moroccan mosque in Kortendijk, Roosendaal from any more calls to prayer. They've hired a lawyer to advise them on how to proceed, the Telegraaf reports. The mosque is located right next to the Commando Corps' military base and the soldiers barracks, the Engelbrecht van Nassau barracks, are within shouting distance of the prayer house. Every Friday the mosque uses a loud speakers to call on people to come pray. According to the soldiers, the sound evokes negative associations with "elements and events" which they experienced in military operations abroad. A spokesperson for the mosque is confused about why the soldiers immediately turned to a lawyer instead of talking to them first.
