Hague police find 119 kg cocaine in trafficking investigation

The police in The Hague discovered and seized a total of 119 kilograms of cocaine in a criminal investigation into large-scale cocaine trafficking, according to a police statement released on Tuesday. Three people were arrested. A surveillance team monitored a number of people for this investigation. On Thursday, July 21st, the team was monitoring a house in The Hague when they saw a bag being handed to a man in a car, after which the car drove away. Some officers followed the car to Hans Lodeizenstraat, where they pulled it over and checked it. Five kilograms of cocaine was found in the car. The driver, a 28-year-old from Utrecht, tried to flee, but was arrested almost immediately. After discovering the cocaine in the car, the police searched to homes in The Hague. At the home where the Utrecht driver picked up the bag, officers found 114 kilos of cocaine in the attic. The 46-year-old resident of the house was arrested. At the suspected supplier's house, officers seized 371 thousand euros in cash and 19 kilograms of hashish. The 35-year-old resident was arrested. The 46-year-old and 28-year-old suspects are still in custody. Th 35-year-old was released after questioning. It is unclear whether this person is still a suspect. The police believes that more arrests will follow.
