Delta flights grounded; delays for passengers from Schiphol
American airline Delta is dealing with a worldwide computer malfunction that has all their flights grounded. This includes some flights from Schiphol airport and travelers are advised to keep an eye on actual travel information.
According to the Telegraaf, the malfunction means that no passengers can check in. Delta writes on Twitter that the malfunction is affecting all flights awaiting departure. Flights all ready en route are operating normally.
At Schiphol Airport check-ins are happening as usual, a spokesperson said to the Telegraaf. "They can simply enter the lounge", he said, adding that it is unclear how long they will have to wait there. "The flights are delayed."
Delta Air Lines and KLM are code-share partners, though so far KLM has made no mention of the malfunction or any possible delays. At least one passenger complained on Twitter about her Delta/KLM flight being grounded indefinitely.
