Eindhoven man arrested for assaulting taxi driver

A 40-year-old man from Eindhoven was arrested in his home city on Saturday for assaulting a taxi driver, the police said in a statement. He is in custody for questioning. According to the police, the man took a taxi on Begijnenhof to his home in Eindhoven during the early hours of Saturday morning, Once arrived, the man refused to pay and got out of the taxi. The taxi driver followed the man and demanded his money. The man forced the driver to the ground and assaulted him. The taxi driver was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries. The police launched a neighborhood investigation. The man turned himself in at the police station on Mathildelaan on Saturday afternoon.
