Leiden man hit by police bullet during arrest
A 40-year-old man from Leiden was injured when the police fired shots while arresting him on Monday night. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, the police said in a statement. Officers went to the man's home in an apartment building on Arendshorst in Leiden around 8:00 p.m. on Monday to arrest the man and a woman in connection with a "violent crime", according to the police statement. The police information indicated that the man has a firearm in his possession. There was a confrontation between the man and the police, and the officers fired a number of shots. The man was injured and was taken to the hospital. The severity of his injuries were unknown. Both man and woman were arrested, the woman without incident.
