Filipino swimmer found dead in Groningen waters
Fire department divers removed the body of a 23-year-old Filipino man from the waters of the Reitdiep in the Groningen village of Warfhuizen on Monday, the Telegraaf reports.
The man was visiting his partner in the Groningen town.
On Monday afternoon the fire department responded to reports of a missing swimmer. The man's body was found a short time later.
Emergency services tried to resuscitate him, but to no avail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
