Bids for bankrupt McGregor rejected
Bankruptcy curators working on McGregor's case, rejected the bids interested parties made for the bankrupt fashion chain, the Financieele Dagblad reports based on anonymous sources.
According to the newspapers, a complicating matter in this case is that the McGregor shareholders are also the fashion chain's main creditors. These parties think that more money can be earned by selling than by a possible restart, though it could come at the cost of 1,200 jobs.
The bankruptcy administrators expect to have an answer on the future of McGregor by Wednesday, a spokesperson said to NU.nl on Tuesday. According to the spokesperson, they are still in discussion with the owners and potential buyers.
McGregor owns 150 stores under the names McGregor, Gaastra and Adam Brandstore. About 80 of these are in the Benelux. The fashion chain filed for bankruptcy in June.
