Chairman of police works council resigns over expense irregularities
Frank Giltay resigned as chairman of the police's Central Works Council on Tuesday following irregularities around expenses made under his supervision, the National Police confirmed to Nu.nl
According to NRC, Giltay filed thousands of euros in unclear invoices, including for dinners and trips he made.
Earlier this month the National Police launched an investigation into these expenses. But Giltay decided not to await the outcome of this investigation and handed in his resignation.
A spokesperson for the National Police told NU.nl that they respect his decision and will further await the results of the investigation.
