Amsterdam lookout point A’dam Toren drawing big crowds

Amsterdam's new lookout point A'dam Toren, which opened just over a month ago, is drawing quite a crowd. The popularity can be noticed in the public transport to the lookout tower, especially the ferries across the IJ, Het Parool reports. Commenting to Het Parool, public transporter GVB stated that complaints from local residents about the crowds are not surprising. "We monitor it using tel-cameras on the north side of the IJ. I can not say exactly how many people use the connection, but that something is going on is clear." Neighborhood association Overhoeks expects GVB to do something about the crowds to lessen inconvenience to local residence, such as deploying more ferries or building a pedestrian tunnel. "You let some tunnel tubes sink and you make entries on both sides. I think it is a good solution", spokesperson Wouter Jansweijer said to the newspaper. "And until that happens, the GVB must simply use more and longer ferries."
