First female commander appointed for Eindhoven Airbase
This week command of Eindhoven Airbase is transferring to Colonel Elanor Boekholt-O'Sullivan, the first time a woman will have command on an operational Dutch airbase, Omroep Brabant reports.
Boekholt-O'Sullivan started her Air Force career in air traffic control in 1994. After that she held several positions in the field of intelligence and security, before being sent to Afghanistan in 2008. In recent years she was responsible for innovation in the Air Force.
The new commander is taking over from Colonel Johan van Soest, who is going to a new job in the Air Force.
