Motorcycle racing instructor killed in Assen TT Circuit crash

A driving instructor was killed in an accident during a motorcycle driving proficiency class at the TT circuit in Assen on Monday. The police are investigating, but so far assume the accident was caused by "human error". According to the Telegraaf, the driving instructor had over 15 years of experience. The accident happened when his motorcycle's wheel slipped as the instructor was going around a curve during the lesson. He landed on his head and neck. The instructor was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but he died on the way. TT circuit spokesperson Peter Schorer told Dagblad van het Noorden that the instructor was not driving too fast. The lesson was part of a three day motorcycle driving proficiency course. After consulting with the participants, it was decided that the rest of the course will continue as planned.
