Hoog Soeren bush fire triggers code orange warning

A large bush fire broke out near Pomphulweg in Hoog Soeren on Friday morning. Dozens of firefighters are using all available material to prevent the fire spreading any further. "That is our main priority at the moment", a spokesperson for safety office Veiligheidsregio Noord- en Oost-Gelderland said to ANP. Three firefighting platoons were deployed to the area and additional water extraction equipment is on the way. Four fire engines and two tank-trucks are at the scene fighting the fire. A police helicopter is providing assistance with aerial images of the fire. The fire department issued a code orange warning for fire hazard because of how dry it is in the nature area. The code orange warning covers Zeeland, part of Brabant, Gelderland and Overijssel.
