Growing fear for teen boy missing since Friday

Friends, family and police are looking for 17 year old Jan Baarssen. He disappeared in Urk on Friday night and, despite several tips, is still missing, a police spokesperson said to Omroep Flevoland. On Monday the police will look into whether footage from surveillance cameras can give any insight to the missing teenager's whereabouts. He will also be listed on the police's missing persons page. The police are considering all scenarios. Jan was last seen on Friday night having a few drinks on a boat in the channel, like he did almost every weekend. He was also seen at a wedding celebrations, a few 100 meters away from the boat. According to his friends, Jan was under the influence of alcohol. One local resident is 80 percent sure that he saw Jan sleeping in his backyard, according to the Telegraaf. On Sunday between 500 and 800 people searched Urk for the missing teenager, but the search was in vain. There is still not trace of him. The only thing found was his jacket, found at the site of the wedding celebration he was seen at. Jan has brown hair and is about 1.82 meters tall. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing dark trousers and a red shirt or jersey.
