Some 23,000 refugees to need homes in 2nd half of 2016
Dutch municipalities will have to find home for at least 23 thousand refugees with a residency permit in the second half of this year, State Secretary Klaas Dijkhoff of Security and Justice reported on Monday, ANP reports.
About the same number of refugees will need a home in the first half of next year, he expects.
In the first half of 2016 municipalities have to find space for 20 thousand people with refugee status, according to the asylum plan. This is in addition to about 3,400 refugees for whom no place was found in 2015.
According to Dijkhoff, municipalities are working very hard and doing their best to find housing for all refugees, but they are lagging behind.
