Two million still need to file taxes, to get automatic extension
The some two million people who still need to file their tax returns, have a few extra days to do so. State Secretary Eric Wiebes of Finance decided to extend the deadline from March 31st to April 4th, RTL Nieuws reports.
Those who file their tax returns by April 4th are guaranteed a response by July 1st. Officially tax returns can be filed until May 1st, but those who do so after April 4th have no guarantee when they will get a response.
A total of 8 million Dutch, of which approximately 1.2 million are business owners, have to file their tax returns. By Wednesday nearly 6 million people already did so, the Tax authorities announced.
