V&D stores open on Wednesday in final liquidation sale
The first 25 V&D stores are open for their final close-out sales on Wednesday. This includes stores in, among others, Oss, Deventer, Goes, Haarlem and Sittard, ANP reports.
Over the coming days, all 62 branches will open to sell remaining stocks. The stores will remain open for three or four weeks. Exactly what stocks are left to sell is unknown.
The proceeds of the temporary reopening will go to V&D's creditors. The bankrupt retail chain owes about 100 million euros.
V&D, the largest department store chain in the Netherlands, went under last month after a restart proved unfeasible. Supermarket chain Jumbo took over a number of La Place restaurant branches.
