Belgian prosecutor demands more prison in murder of Amsterdam criminal
The Belgian prosecutor demanded 19 years in prison against Benaouf A. for his role in the assassination of Amsterdam criminal Najeb Bouhbouh. This is the appeal in this case. In 2014 A. was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The 34 year old Bouhbouh was assassinated on the sidewalk of a hotel in Antwerp on October 18th, 2012. His murder is largely considered the spark behind the ongoing Amsterdam gang war that cost numerous lives these past years. The latest victim is Nabil Amzieb, whose head was found in front of an Amsterdam shisha lounge earlier this month.
The Belgian prosecutor sees A. as the order giver in the murder. According to the prosecutor, A. acted as a liaison between the shooters and the man who lured Bouhbouh to the hotel, Chris Bouman. In 2014 the prosecutor demanded 16 years against A.
