Missing Belgian boy, 8, found on Rotterdam road

A young runaway from Brussels ended up in Rotterdam on Sunday. A taxi driver saw him hitchhiking on Statenweg and decided to give the adventurous 8-year-old boy a lift to the police station, broadcaster NOS reports. The boy took the train from Brussels to Rotterdam. From Rotterdam he wanted to continue his travels by car. The taxi driver found it strange when he saw the boy alone on the street and decided to intervene. The boy's parents reported him missing in Brussels, where a massive search was launched. A family member immediately left for Rotterdam to pick up the boy. According to the broadcaster, the boy does have family near Rotterdam, but hasn't visited them by train in four years.
