More cleaners tackle NS trains during long routes

NS is deploying cleaners to clean trains while they're traveling on long routes. The cleaners work between the morning- and evening rush hour, cleaning up loose rubbish, emptying bins and removing stains while the train is traveling, ANP reports. From Monday the cleaners will be working on four major routes - Den Helder-Nijmegen, Alkmaar-Maastricht, Amsterdam-Dordrecht and Lelystad-Vlissingen. Almost a third of train travelers make use of these routes on a daily basis. Over the past few months NS ran a test with having cleaners traveling along with the trains on some routes. Big cleaning jobs, such as cleaning the toilets, are done at the endpoints.
