Greenpeace activists occupy coal plant flue in protest
Greenpeace activists are protesting on the Maasvlakte against an Eon coal plant. Activists climbed the coal plant's 175 meter flue and are writing the names of people who singed a petition for coal-free energy by 2020 on it.
So far 45 thousand people signed the petition, according to the environmental organization. Those who also want their name on the flue can sign the petition here or tweet your name and message with the hashtag #kolenuit. "Our climbers are doing their best", Greenpeace said on Twitter.

Greenpeace wants to hand the petition over to the Tweede Kamer, lower house of Dutch parliament. The Tweede Kamer is debating the future of energy supply in the Netherlands on Wednesday. The environmental organization wants more wind power generated by building more offshore windfarms.
