According to the newspaper, the staff at a grocer store on the Binnenhof in Almelo noticed the man putting some of his groceries in his own bag, instead of in the shopping basket. When they addressed the man on this at the counter, he tried to put the groceries back.
The staff decided to call the police. When the officers checked the man's history, they discovered that he had already been arrested for shoplifting 30 times before. The elderly shoplifter will soon have to answer for his crimes in court.
