Garbage, Christmas trees pile up in Groningen

The streets of Groningen is piling up with garbage bags and old Christmas trees because the icy roads are making it impossible for the municipality to collect the waste, NU reports. On Wednesday the municipality announced that the waste will not be collected this week. Groningen residents can however take their waste to the waste transfer stations on Duinkerkenstraat and Electronstraat, where they can also pick up free salt for their sidewalks and driveways.
