Crowdfunded classical music pub opens in Utrecht

The first classical music pub in the Netherlands is opening its doors in Utrecht this weekend. The brains behind the Muzieklokaal are Utrecht women Sanne van Buuren and talitha Verheij, and the money for their dream was raised through crowdfunding, RTV Utrecht reports. The pub is located on the Bemuurde Weerd. In the pub you can enjoy a beer while listening to classical music playing in the background. The two Utrecht ladies are also planning live performances. After the opening weekend, the Muzieklokaal will be open six days a week - every day but Monday. "Finding a location, obtaining the proper permits and getting the whole renovation in order was a huge job", Van Buuren said to the broadcaster. "We're still in the middle of the job and we are hard at work to get it done before the weekend, but it is also a dream come true." Those who invested in the crowdfunding project can get a sneak peek at the Muzieklokaal on Wednesday and Thursday.
