Fall from Utrecht balcony leaves teen boys in critical condition

Two young men were seriously hurt after falling from a rooftop just after midnight in Utrecht. The 18-year-olds were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said in a statement. A witness told local broadcaster RTV Utrecht that one of the teens had died. Police confirm at least one of the victims may have grave injuries. Police say the accident happened while a group of young people were celebrating the new year on a ledge where there was no safety railing. Emergency services got the call at about 12:10 a.m., and dispatchers sent first responders and an air ambulance to the scene. One of those hurt is from Utrecht, while the other is from nearby De Bilt.
