Paragliding slip-up injures 72-year-old Dutch woman
A 72-year-old Dutch woman was injured while paragliding in Austria on Wednesday. The woman stumbled as she took a run up the mountainside to take off, and she and her guide came down hard on a snow free pasture, broadcaster NOS reports.
The accident happened in the Gerlos ski resort in Tyrol. The woman sustained a broken arm and a head wound. The 52 year old guide sustained only minor injuries.
The woman was airlifted to the hospital by helicopter. The guide made the journey back with the chairlift.
