Dogs pick up scent of missing Scottish tourist

Sniffer dogs picked up the scent of missing Scottish tourist Chris Nelson, who disappeared from Rechtboomssloot in Amsterdam on November 15th. Based on what the dogs found, it is now clear that Nelson walked along a lot of the Oudeschans and crossed the Keizersbrug. The police are working with these new leads, Nelson's fiancée Stefanie Kollross stated during a press conference on Sunday. The sniffer dogs were deployed by Stichting Signi, Het Parool reports. Nelson went for a walk during the early hours of November 15th because he was unable to sleep. He never returned to the home on Rechtboomssloot, where he and Stefanie were staying with a friend. Nelson's family put in a great deal of effort to find the missing Chris. They visited hospitals, spread the word on social media, did their own neighborhood investigation, hung posters in bus shelters and stations in the neighborhood. Friends in Germany, where Nelson lives with his fiancée, also searched for the missing man. The family is assisted in their search by two police investigators and the Amsterdam district Centrum.
