Over 45,000 without water as burst main floods Arnhem center

A damaged water main in Arnhem flooded the Musis Sacrum concert hall and left 46 thousand households in Arnhem, Duiven and Westervoort without water on Wednesday morning. A spokesperson fro water company Vitens told NOS that the leak has been plugged and everyone should have normal water pressure again. Fixing the damage will take some time and affected households may see warm water flowing from their taps for a while still. The damaged water main is in a deep construction pit at the concert hall in the center of town. The meters deep pit is completely full of water and some water flooded into the building. The fire department is working on pumping water out of the pit and building.
