Icy road warning through rush hour, cold day ahead
A code yellow warning for slick, icy roads is currently in effect for all of the Netherlands. Traffic association ANWB warns motorists to drive carefully, though does not expect the slick roads to have an effect on the morning rush hour. The KNMI expects the slickness to be gone around 10:00 a.m.
This morning will be bright and cold, with a few winter showers expected along the coast, according to the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute. Many areas further inland may see some sunshine.
Monday afternoon will gradually become more cloudy from the west, with occasional rain fall in the evening.
Afternoon temperatures will range between 5 and 8 degrees, with a weak to moderate wind, strengthening to powerful along the coast later in the day.
The rest of the week is expected to be cold and cloudy, with occasional rainfall and very little sunshine. Afternoon temperatures will range from around 2 degrees on Tuesday to a warmer 10 degrees on Sunday.
