Maxima recovering from infection cancels Brussels visit

Though Queen Maxima has been released from the hospital and is allowed to recuperate further from home, she is still too ill for the Royal Couple's planned trip to Brussels. This means that King Willem Alexander will have to visit the European institutions in Brussels by himself, RTL Nieuws reports. The King and Queen had planned to visit the European Parliament, the European Council and the European Commission together. Last week Queen Maxima had to cut her state visit to China short after being diagnosed with a kidney infection. She expressed her thanks for the support she has received on Twitter: "Many thanks for all the many well wishes I have received. Your support is heartwarming!"

“Veel dank voor de vele beterschapswensen die ik mocht ontvangen. Uw steun is hartverwarmend!” M
