Report: Robin van Persie dropped from Netherlands squad
Robin van Persie may have played his last match for the Netherlands squad. Coach Danny Blind has decided that Van Persie is not fit enough to be included in the Oranje team selection, the Telegraaf reported on Monday.
With 50 goals to his name, Van Persie leads Oranje's all-time top scorers list. The 32 year old Rotterdam strikers had his Oranje-debut on June 4th, 2005 in the World cup qualifier against Romania. He was part of the Netherlands' national team 101 times, including in the European Championships of 2008 and 2012 and the World Cups of 2006, 2010 and 2014.
Blind will announce his preliminary selection for the friendly matches against Wales on November 13th and Germany on November 17th during a press conference at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
